Therapy for Children & Young People
At Caroline Sutton Hypnotherapy, we understand how important it is for children and young people to feel safe, understood, and supported. We provide specialist therapy for young people aged 11 and over, helping them develop emotional regulation skills, build confidence, and feel calmer in themselves.
Our Experience & Approach
With extensive backgrounds in child health and education, we bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to our work.
- I worked in the NHS for many years, first as a health visitor and later as a specialist nurse for vulnerable children, supporting young people and families facing complex challenges.
- Emily has a degree in Childhood Studies and has spent over a decade working with children in various educational settings, including a special school for young people with autism and complex disabilities.
Together, we specialise in working with neurodivergent children, particularly those with autism and ADHD, using a sensitive, child-led approach. Our lived experience also plays a significant role in our understanding—both Emily and I have ADHD, and my youngest son (Emily’s brother) is autistic with complex learning disabilities. This personal experience gives us deep empathy, insight, and a strong commitment to providing the best possible support.
How We Work
The relationship between the therapist and the child is key to successful therapy. We take the time to build trust, rapport, and understanding, ensuring that each child feels safe and comfortable.
We use a range of therapeutic techniques, including:
- Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) – Helping children reframe negative thoughts and develop positive coping strategies.
- Hypnosis & Relaxation Techniques – Supporting children to feel calmer and in control of their emotions.
- Practical Emotional Regulation Strategies – Teaching young people how to manage big emotions and communicate their needs effectively.
Each therapy programme is tailored to the child’s unique needs, and where appropriate, we work closely with families to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Support Packages & Fees
We offer three different levels of therapy packages for children and young people, designed to provide the right level of support, structure and guidance based on their individual needs.
